What is Disability Confident ?
The scheme was developed by employers and disabled people’s representatives to make it rigorous but easily accessible, particularly for smaller businesses.
The 3 levels of the scheme are designed to support you on your Disability Confident journey.
You must complete each level before moving on to the next.
The guidance for each level explains which commitments you must agree to and which actions you need to take to successfully become:
- Committed (level 1)
- Employer (level 2)
- Leader (level 3)
More information on the scheme is available here. https://disabilityconfident.campaign.gov.uk/
Why become Disability Confident
Disability Confident is creating a movement of change, encouraging employers to think differently about disability and take action to improve how they recruit, retain and develop disabled people.
Being Disability Confident is a unique opportunity to lead the way in your community. It can help all your people fulfil their potential and contribute fully to your team’s success.
By signing up to the scheme, employers are acknowledging the value of disabled employees.
