Meeting Rooms

We have two meeting rooms which can be hired individually or adjoining.
Please note all catering must be prepared by our team in our building.

Our building is fully accessible and includes a Changing Places Toilet.

Room bookings are per hour with access to the room available 15 minutes prior and 15 minutes after the meeting.

Our cancellation policy states that rooms must be cancelled 24 hours prior to the booking, or the full amount will be charged.

 

Thomson Room (Larger)

Size 4.4 (w) x 7.6 (h) metres
Capacity 20 people board room style, 35 people theatre style, 15-18 class room style
Price £20 per hour during normal opening hours (an additional staff charge will be applied for evenings and weekends)
Available Resources: WiFi connection, laptop, projector, media bar, speaker system, flipchart & pens, catering

 

Crombie Room (Smaller)

Size 3.6 (w) x 5.5 (h) metres
Capacity 12 people board room style, 20 people theatre style
Price £15 per hour during normal opening hours (an additional staff charge will be applied for evenings and weekends)
Available Resources: WiFi connection, laptop, projector, media bar, speaker system, flipchart & pens, caterin

Thomson and Crombie Rooms Combined

A joint package of both Thomson and Crombie Rooms is available for £30 per hour during normal opening hours. An additional staff charge will be applied for evenings and weekends.The Rooms adjoin to form an ‘L-SHAPED’ space with connecting double door opening.

Hire Our Cafe for an Event or Exhibition

Cafe Space

Larger events using the main cafe space (evening or weekend only) can be arranged by contacting our events team events@theusualplace.org

Exhibitions by arrangement (the normal arrangement is a charge for wallspace for a minimum 4 weeks, we can arrange to sell artwork from the exhibition on the artist’s behalf, we do not charge commission).

PLEASE NOTE: The Cafe Space events diary is very busy and managed alongside our core commitments. All enquiries are considered within this context and in relation to our capacity, core values and aims. We no longer offer wedding-associated events.

Our Main Cafe is available for hire as a venue for a variety of events and occasions. If you are interested in hiring the cafe for your own event outside our normal opening times (evenings and weekends) please give at least 3 months’ notice and get in touch with our events team giving as much detail as possible about your proposed event:
