We just ask people to give what they can and help us to make a real difference to Young People's Lives

Be a Change Maker Be A Friend

Our Friends are The Usual Place fan club - a growing circle of friendship cheering us on.

"I was fortunate my first experience was the Usual Place. It was the best place to have that."

"I get a tonne of support from people in the Usual Place"

Friendship with The Usual Place is about being part of something that matters.

It is a way of showing support, offering encouragement, and standing alongside a community that believes in young people and their future. When many people give what they can—even a small amount—it builds lasting strength and stability for the organisation and the opportunities it creates.

Friends of The Usual Place include café customers, supporters, families, and people who have experienced our work in different ways. Together, this circle of support helps us stay true to our purpose, keeping young people at the heart of everything we do.

You can give in a way that works for you.

Many Friends choose to give a small amount each month, from as little as £3, while others give more or make an annual contribution. Every gift matters.

When you become a Friend, we will send you our Friends Newsletter and invite you to our annual Friends Canapé Evening.

You are also welcome to visit our office during opening hours (Mon–Fri, 9.30am–4pm) to pick up a Friends pin badge.

Our Friends and donors are partners in young people’s futures.
There is strength in coming together.

When people give what they can, regularly and over time, it helps create the conditions in which young people who need additional support can grow, make choices, and shape their own paths—feeling enabled, respected, and valued.

You can give in a way that feels right for you.

There is no minimum or maximum amount, and you can give monthly or annually.

Your friendship helps strengthen The Usual Place and encourages young people to believe in their own potential.

You can join as an individual, couple, family, or group of friends. You can also give a friendship as a gift—friends come in all shapes and sizes.

As a Friend, you become part of a growing circle of support around The Usual Place.

This helps sustain our work for the long term.

We will keep in touch through our Friends Newsletter and invite you to our annual Friends Canapé Evening.

“Friends of The Usual Place come in all shapes and sizes. You can give whatever feels right for you. What matters is being part of a growing circle of encouragement that supports our work with young people who need additional support. Every friendship adds up, and together they really do change lives.”
