RIP Judi

We are saddened to report the passing of Judi Shaw, one of our well respected volunteers who supported our work over the last 9 years. Judi contributed immensely to The Usual Place, bringing a great wealth of expertise as well as great care and attention to setting up our internal Food, Health and Hygiene courses to make them both accessible to young people as being truly effective in ensuring they can learn and apply this important knowledge in every real working situation. Judi supported our Mentors in embedding this philosophy and practice into our work as well as assessing the resulting completed workbooks with wise and encouraging comments. Judi was also a great supporter of our work as an events venue, regularly helping out at events, especially running the box office for The Balliol Singers’ annual concerts at The Usual Place. She also representing the organization at many external events over the years.

With her compassion, her generosity and her big heart, she has donated her time to not only aid young people in gaining experience and acquiring knowledge, but also helped to support our staff, and all with a kind smile on her face.

Please keep Ian and all of Judi’s family in your thoughts as difficult time. She will be dearly missed.
